Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,811 head Feb. 16, compared to 2,317 head last week and 605 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, stocker steers and calves were $4 to $6 higher, heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder cattle were $2 to $4 higher. Market was very active with good attendance of buyers. Weigh-ups were mostly full. There was a high incidence of No. 1 cattle. Receipts included 20% over 600 pounds and 41% heifers. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower, bulls were steady. A total of 307 cow and bulls sold with 43% going to packers. The high interest in bred cows continued this week.

Light, 22 head, 85 to 90% lean, 635 to 1000 lbs., 36.00 to 39.50; high dressing, 40.00 to 47.00; low dressing, 31.50 to 35.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 25 head, 1400 to 2275 lbs., 56.00 to 59.50; high dressing, 60.00 to 65.00; low dressing, 51.50 to 55.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 to 6 years old, 1250 to 1400 lbs., 6 to 7 months bred, high blacks, 900.00 to 975.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 5 to 7 months bred, average, 770.00 to 810.00.
