Tulsa Feeder Cattle auction report
The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,844 head selling on Jan. 8, compared to 2,240 head selling at 2017’s last reported sale and 3,618 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to the last sale of 2017, steers were selling $6 to $9 higher. Heifers were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Demand was good. Quality was plain through attractive. Receipts included 27% over 600 pounds and 40% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $3 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $4 higher. A total of 339 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers.
