University of Missouri Howell County Extension will host a “Beef and Forage Seminar” starting at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Howell County Extension Center, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd., West Plains.
Dinner is included as part of the event.
Rick Funston from the University of Nebraska will be the guest speaker. He will discuss heifer development, fetal programming effects on postnatal calf performance, carcass characteristics and reproduction and beef reproductive management programs.
Funston is a member of the nationally recognized beef systems research team and provides leadership, subject matter and expertise for educational programs in cow-calf production management.
Pre-paid registration is required with a fee of $15 per person. Registration includes dinner and reference materials. Deadline to pre-register is Feb. 6.
