Tulsa Feeder Cattle Auction report
The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Auction, reported receipts of 2,796 head selling on Jan. 22, compared to 1,566 head a week ago and 2,844 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $7 to $9 higher. Heifers were selling $9 to $11 higher. Demand was good. Quality was attractive, few plain. Receipts included 33% over 600 pounds and 42% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $4 higher. A total of 387 cows and bulls sold with 47% going to packers.
