Apache Livestock Auction report
The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,099 head selling on Feb. 8, compared to 2,210 head a week ago and 1,375 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $1 to $4 higher, feeder heifers were selling $2 to $7 higher. Steer calves were selling steady to $8 higher. Heifer calves were selling unevenly steady. Quality was good to attractive with good demand for the feeders and calves. The supply included 63% over 600 pounds and 38% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $3 higher. There were not enough slaughter bulls for a market test. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 98 cows and bulls sold with 49% going to packers.
