Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,340 head selling on March 5, compared to 1,044 head a week ago and 2,279 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to the limited receipts from a week ago, steers and heifers were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Quality was good. Demand was good. Receipts included 19% over 600 pounds and 43% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 higher following limited receipts a week ago also. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 higher also. A total of 272 cows and bulls sold with 72% going to packers.
