Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 4,224 head selling on March 22, compared to 5,454 head a week ago and 5,230 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 650 to 750 pounds were selling $2 to $6 lower, 750 to 950 pounds were selling $5 to $10 lower. Feeder heifers 600 to 800 pounds were trading steady to firm, 800 to 900 pounds were selling $2 lower. In steer and heifer calves, a lower undertone was noted on a light supply of medium and large frame 1. Trade slow and demand light. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady. Feeder supply included 47% steers and 53% heifers. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 80% (3,393). The slaughter cows and bulls supply was 8% (324).
