Arkansas livestock auction summary

The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending March 23, showed estimated receipts of 11,020 head, compared to 12,585 head last week and 13,485 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $2 to $7 lower. Feeder heifers sold $3 to $6 lower. Slaughter cows sold $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls sold $2 lower. The supply included 7,840 stocker and feeder calves, 1,275 feeder yearlings, 880 replacement cows, and 835 slaughter cows, and 190 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers.
