Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 4,802 head selling on April 12, compared to 3,561 head a week ago and 4,309 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 750 to 950 pounds were selling $3 to $6 higher. Feeder heifers 600 to 800 pounds and 900 to 950 pounds were selling firm to $1 higher, 800 to 900 pounds were selling $1 to $2 lower. Steer and there were not enough medium and large frame 1 heifer calves for a market test. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $3 lower. Trade and demand was moderate. The feeder supply was 63% steers, 37% heifers with 83% 600 pounds and over.
