Tulsa Feeder Cattle auction report
The Tulsa Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,295 head selling on May 1, compared to 1,746 head a week ago and 1,086 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $6 to $9 higher. Heifers were selling $7 to $8 higher. Demand was good. Quality was moderate to good. Receipts included 22% over 600 pounds and 42% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $3 lower. A total of 674 cows and bulls sold with 53% going to packers.
