The Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 565 head selling on May 14, compared to 993 head a week ago and 1,022 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $5 to as much as $9 lower. Trade activity and demand were light to moderate. Cattle futures closed lower and negotiated cash fat cattle lost $4 a week ago. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, 1% replacements and 96% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 53% steers and bulls, 47% heifers. Nearly 72% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, few 376 lbs., 155.00; few 536 lbs., 145.00; few 585 lbs., 130.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 426 lbs., 136.00.
Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, few 493 lbs., full 125.00; few 563 lbs., fleshy 120.00; few 626 lbs., 124.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 119.00 to 120.00; few 770 lbs., full 108.50.
