Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,405 head selling on May 17, compared to 4,794 head a week ago and 3,422 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 850 to 1000 pounds were selling $2 lower on a light test of medium and large frame 1. Feeder heifers 700 to 900 pounds were selling $3 to $6 lower; 900 to 1000 pounds were selling steady to firm on a light supply. In steer and heifer calves there were not enough medium and large frame 1 for a market test. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $2 to $3 lower. Trade was moderate and demand light. The feeder supply was 67% steers, 33% heifers with 91% 600 pounds and over.
