Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,246 head selling on Sept. 6, compared to 1,219 head a week ago and 1,311 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $3 higher. Trade activity was moderate on good demand. Slaughter cows and bulls were trading steady. Slaughter cows and bulls consisted of 3%, 0% replacements and 97% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 54% steers and bulls, 46% heifers. Nearly 51% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 253 lbs., 205.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 188.00 to 205.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 163.50 to 190.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 140.00 to 164.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 160.00 to 164.00, calves 138.00 to 143.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 155.50 to 158.00, calves 130.00 to 135.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 578 Mexican origin 119.00; lot 645 lbs., 152.00; half load 743 lbs., 154.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 184.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 160.00 to 164.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 130.00 to 153.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 490 lbs., 148.00; few 586 lbs., 125.00; few 688 lbs., 115.00.
