Ogallala Livestock Auction report
The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Nebraska, reported receipts of 6,627 head selling on Oct. 18, compared to 2,817 head a week ago and 4,040 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading $2 to $4 lower. Had a nice run of yearling steers and heifers but no comparable trend to the short run a week ago. Within the feeder cattle supply 57% were steers and 43% were heifers with 23% weighing over 600 pounds.
