Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,407 head selling on Nov. 1, compared to 448 head a week ago and 2,623 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, there were not enough comparable sales of yearlings for a market trend. Calves were selling mostly steady on a limited test. Trade was moderately active on good demand. Offerings consisted of mostly stocker calves as the trading area continues to dry out after battling muddy conditions. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $5 to $7 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4%, less than 1% replacements and 96% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 58% steers and bulls, 42% heifers. Nearly 55% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
