Ogallala Livestock Auction report
The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Nebraska, reported receipts of 3,497 head selling on Nov. 8, compared to 5,365 head a week ago and 6,975 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steer calves were trading $5 lower with some instances of lighter steers selling $10 lower. Heifer calves were trading $2 to $6 lower. There was a nice crowd on hand with active bidding and high demand for pre-conditioned calves. No trend on yearlings. Within the feeder cattle supply 52% were steers and 48% were heifers with 23% weighing over 600 pounds.
