San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,647 head selling on Nov. 8, compared to 1,244 head a week ago and 1,118 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer calves and yearlings were selling $2 to $4 lower, heifer calves and yearlings were selling $1 to $3 lower. Slaughter cows were selling fully $3 to $5 lower, slaughter bulls were selling $5 to $8 lower. Stock cows and pairs were selling steady. Trading and demand were moderate for calves and yearlings, demand was light for packer cows. Trading was active, demand was good for quality replacement cows. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 59% feeders, 15% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 60% steers and bulls, 50% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 550 lbs., 152.00 to 158.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 394 lbs., 172.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 162.00 to 176.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 144.00 to 149.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 138.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 126.00 to 129.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 121.00 to 125.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 154.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 142.00 to 162.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 129.00 to 143.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 119.00 to 130.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 114.00 to 118.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 350 to 400 lbs., 141.00 to 145.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1450 to 2300 lbs., 62.00 to 70.00; low yielding, 1200 to 1700 lbs., 52.00 to 64.50.

Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested, and all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1, 1225.00 to 1375.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 900.00 to 1050.00. Medium and large frame 2, 700.00 to 950.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 330.00 to 400.00.

Pairs: All were sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1300.00 to 1475.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1150.00 to 1250.00. Medium and large frame 2, 910.00 to 1050.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1050 lbs., 94.00 to 113.00 hundredweight; young and middle age, 800 to 1000 lbs., 78.00 to 89.00 hundredweight; middle age 900 to 1200 lbs., 60.00 to 68.00 hundredweight; thin and or aged 800 to 1200 lbs., 45.00 to 58.00 hundredweight, few 28.00 to 44.00 hundredweight.
