OKC West Livestock auction report
The OKC West Livestock, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported 100% receipts of feeder cattle including 7,135 head selling on Nov. 14, compared to 11,219 head a week ago and 14,548 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to weak. Demand was moderate to good for a true yearling. The bulk of the steer and heifer calves were selling mostly $3 to $5 lower, with the exception of truly long weaned calves that were trading steady to weak. Demand was moderate. Long weaned calves in thinner condition were selling with very good demand. Quality was average to attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 48% steers, 51% heifers, and 1% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 62%.
