Ada livestock auction report

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,345 head selling on Nov. 14, compared to 4,903 head a week ago and 3,085 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers were selling fully steady. Demand was good on all weights as we break for the holiday next week. Overall quality was average to attractive. There were a good number of weaned calves on offer this week. Heifers made up 44% and weights over 600 pounds 19% of the supply. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady. Packer demand was moderate. Demand for bred cows fairly good. A total of 699 cows and bulls sold with 35% going to packers. Southern Livestock Auction will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
