Most cash bids end day lower

Compared to Nov. 16, cash bids for wheat, corn, soybeans, and sorghum were lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Nov. 19.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said 5.4 million bushels of corn and 38.8 million bushels of soybeans were inspected for export last week. Both values could be viewed as bearish.

Wheat was mostly 8 cents lower. Corn was mostly 3 cents lower. Soybeans were mostly 18 1/2 cents lower. Sorghum was 4 1/4 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $4.74 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.84 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $5.84 1/2, down 1 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.15 to $6.35, down 5 cents to unchanged; St. Louis, $5.22 to $5.23, down 3 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.62 1/4, down 2 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, no comparisons; southern Iowa, $3.43 1/4 to $3.47 1/4, down 2 1/2 cents; Omaha, $3.45 to $3.47, down 3 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.38 3/4 to $8.43 3/4, down 18 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, unavailable; southern Iowa, $8.30 3/4 to $8.36 3/4, down 18 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $18.18 3/4 to $8.53 3/4, down 18 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Nov. 19, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.89 1/4 to $6.40 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $6.25 1/4 to $6.40 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $6.25 1/4 to $6.40 1/4, down 8 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.28 1/4 to $6.43 1/4, down 5 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
