New options bring value to subscribers

We are in the final weeks of 2018. The year has been one of challenges for the agriculture industry, but opportunity as well. Here at High Plains Journal, we have been working behind the scenes to deliver more to you, our reader, than ever before.

Size change—You may have noticed the size change in this week’s issue. The new size will give us an opportunity to freshen up the look for you in the coming weeks. We’ve already started to update our look. Today we have color on every page and are taking advantage of it with a more attractive look, and we will soon combine that with more graphic elements to make the news easier to read.

Better delivery—In addition, the new size should help delivery. Smaller sizes work better with the postal equipment, which we hope will improve delivery times as well as the physical condition. We know some areas have had improved delivery times and consistency and others, well…let’s just say we know it’s been a struggle. Last month, we started drop shipping to different post offices to gain better delivery. We hope those improvements continue, but we plan to monitor the issue and will continue to make changes should it become necessary.

Improved digital options—We have many new digital opportunities planned for 2019. The most exciting is that each and every subscriber will qualify to receive our digital edition at no extra charge. Each Friday, you will receive a copy of next week’s issue to your email inbox. The digital edition has all the stories from all coverage areas and gives you the very first look at our classified advertising section.

In addition, with your subscription you will receive full access to HPJ.com including web-exclusive content. We look forward to offering additional stories, tools and videos in a timely and targeted way. Watch for notices in the coming weeks on how to take advantage of those new opportunities when they are launched.

We have also been working on two exciting changes to our digital properties that will launch in 2019. High Plains Journal has a long and rich history of farmer-to-farmer classified advertising as well as listings from agriculture companies that provide our readers the opportunity to find what they need, when they need it. Now, our digital platform will have an improved look, as well as search capabilities that will make finding listings easy and efficient from your phone, computer or tablet.

And last, we will be launching a new and improved Big Book website that serves as a dynamic directory of agriculture businesses, allowing you to reference those companies that are ready to serve your needs.

I am looking forward to sharing these new options and better tools with you, our valued subscriber. As I’ve said so many times before, you invite us into your home each week. We take that invitation as a commitment to deliver you quality and valuable content each week. Thank you for your continued loyalty to High Plains Journal.
