Ericson Livestock Auction report
The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 5,312 head selling on Dec. 8, compared to 2,150 head a week ago and 4,186 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers under 600 pounds were selling steady to $5 lower on a thin test of comparable offerings. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 60% steers and 40% heifers with near 39% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
