Cash bids mostly higher

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly higher for wheat, corn, soybeans and sorghum, according to USDA reported prices, Sept. 20.

For the week ending Sept. 15, an increase of 74,966 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 177,030 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 32,341 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 37,948 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 9, was lower at 963,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 10 to 53 1/4 cents. Corn up 13 3/4 cents. Sorghum was up 13 3/4 cents. Soybeans were up 17 1/2 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $9.63.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $10.43, up 53 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $11.13, change unavailable; Portland, $9.45 to $9.60, up 25 to 10 cents; St. Louis, $8.61 3/4 to $8.83 3/4, up 56 1/4 to 63 1/4 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.12 to $7.17, up 13 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.47 to $6.92, up 13 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $6.54 to $6.68, up 13 3/4 cents; Omaha, $6.91 to $7.14, up 13 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.68 3/4 to $15.73 3/4, up 17 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $14.29 3/4 to $14.33 3/4, up 15 1/2 to 17 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $14.68 3/4 to $14.93 3/4, up 15 1/2 to 17 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $15.08 3/4 to $16.63 3/4, up 17 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 20, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $10.93 to $11.03, up 43 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $10.95 to $11.05, up 45 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $10.95 to $11.05, up 52 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $10.95 to $11.05, up 52 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
