High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 14, reported receipts of 67,593 head compared to 38,763 head a week ago and 52,058 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 22,094 head, 1,275 to 1,600 lbs., 187.00 to 199.00 (196.37); 65 to 80% Choice, 6,692 head, 1,255 to 1,565 lbs., 185.00 to 198.00 (189.85); 35 to 65% Choice 2,795 head, 1,245 to 1,450 lbs., 187.00 to 188.00 (187.92). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,861 head, 1,300 to 1,500 lbs., 196.00 to 199.00 (197.95); 65 to 80% Choice, 513 head, 1,600 lbs., 196.00. Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 4,149 head, 806 to 1,055 lbs., 308.00 to 317.00 (312.96); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,927 head, 862 to 1,024 lbs., 310.00 to 312.50 (311.83).
