Ada livestock auction report
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported estimated receipts of 2,750 head selling Sept. 12, compared to 1,289 head a week ago and 2,102 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Steer and heifer calves were selling steady to $3 higher compared to the light test a week ago. Demand was good on all offerings overall and quality average to attractive. Wheat planting has begun and demand for lightweight calves suitable for early wheat is good. Heifers made up 40% and cattle over 600 pounds 16% of supply.
