Salina livestock auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kansas, reported receipts of 3,852 head selling on Feb. 15, compared to 3,229 head a week ago and 4,440 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, steers 600 to 1000 pounds were selling steady to $5 higher, in 600 pounds and under, a higher undertone was noted. Heifers 650 to 1050 pounds were selling $1 to $3 higher, in 650 pounds and under a higher undertone was noted. Trade and demand was moderate. Receipts included 86% 600 pounds and over, 13% 600 pounds and under and 01% slaughter cows. The feeder supply was 65% steers and 35% heifers.
