Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,978 head selling on Feb. 19, compared to 892 head a week ago and 2,366 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago’s limited receipts, steers were selling $9 to $11 higher. Heifers were selling $7 to $9 higher. Quality was good. Demand was good. Receipts included 30% over 600 pounds and 46% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $5 higher. Slaughter bulls had too few receipts a week ago to compare, however a strong undertone is noted. A total of 232 cows and bulls sold with 61% going to packers.
