The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 3,850 head selling on Feb. 23, compared to 4,400 head a week ago and 2,200 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.

Compared to a week ago, steers were selling steady to $7 lower, heifers were selling steady $7 lower, except weights over 700 pounds were trading $1 to $4 higher. Good selection of replacement heifers offered with good demand. Steers accounted for 42% and heifers 58% of the offering, with 89% over 600 pounds.
