Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,337 head selling on March 12, compared to 2,340 head a week ago and 1,469 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $4 lower. Heifers were selling mostly steady. Demand was good. Quality was average. Receipts include 22% over 600 pounds and 43% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $5 lower. A total of 229 cows and bulls sold with 54% going to packers.
