Compared to a week ago, there were not enough comparable sales of steers or heifers for a market trend. Trade activity was slow to moderate on moderate to good demand. A couple loads of attractive quality yearling steers and heifers were available in the offerings. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to firm. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 12%, less than 1% replacements and 88% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 42% steers and bulls, 58% heifers, nearly 90% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, individual 345 lbs., 187.00; few 428 lbs., 172.00; few 642 lb. calves 138.50; few 755 lbs., fleshy 121.00; load 814 lbs., 133.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, few 486 lbs., 167.00; few 604 lbs., 146.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 600 to 650 lbs., 133.50 to 137.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 164.00 to 168.00; few 496 lbs., 140.50; few 542 lbs., 140.50; few 663 lbs., 125.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 125.00 to 129.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 485 lbs., 139.00; few 538 lbs., 138.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 125.00 to 126.00.
