Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 7,132 head selling on April 26, compared to 4,951 head a week ago and 5,619 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 700 to 1000 pounds were selling $2 to $8 lower. Feeder heifers 650 to 900 pounds were selling steady to $3 lower. Steer calves were selling weak with a lower undertone noted and heifer calves were selling firm though a higher undertone was noted on a light supply of medium and large frame 1. Trade was slow and demand was light. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to firm. The feeder supply was 56% steers, 44% heifers with 91% 600 pounds and over.
