Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 4,329 head selling on May 3, compared to 7,132 head a week ago and 5,814 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 650 to 950 pounds were selling steady to firm, 950 to 1000 pounds were trading $2 higher. Feeder heifers 700 to 950 pounds were selling steady to $2 higher. There were not enough steer and heifer calves for a market test. Trade and demand were moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to weak. The feeder supply was 42% steers, 58% heifers with 85% 600 pounds and over.
