Springfield Livestock market report
The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Missouri, reported receipts of 2,138 head on June 6, compared to 2,149 head last week and 2,237 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, the steer calves weighing under 600 pounds were steady to $3 lower, the 600-pound weight steers steady, the yearling steers weighing over 700 pounds were selling $3 to $5 higher compared to a limited test a week ago and the heifers were steady. The demand and supply was moderate. The feeder cattle supply included 47% steers, 3% was dairy steers, 44% was heifers, and was 7% bulls. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 38%.
