According to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service for the week ending Aug. 12, wheat crop conditions in High Plains Journal’s coverage area were as follows:
Nebraska: Winter wheat harvested was 98 percent, near 100 last year and 99 average.
South Dakota: Winter wheat harvested was 97 percent, near 95 last year, and ahead of 87 average.
Minnesota: Forty-seven percent of spring wheat has been harvested, one week ahead of average. Spring wheat condition rated 79 percent good to excellent.
Wyoming: A reporter from southeastern Wyoming indicated that wheat harvest has been delayed due to cloud cover.
