Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary
The Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 684 head selling on Sept. 10, compared to 495 head Aug. 27 and 1,077 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to the Aug. 27 sale, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to $2 higher. Trade activity was moderate on good demand. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady on a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 7%, less than 1% replacements and 93% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 46% steers and bulls, 54% heifers. Nearly 35% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
