Cash bids for corn, sorghum higher
Compared to Sept. 24, cash bids for corn and sorghum are higher, while soybeans and wheat were mixed, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Sept. 25.
Most of the Midwest is at a standstill in regards to harvest due to precipitation. The 10 day forecast is calling for more precipitation that could slow harvest further.
Wheat was from 7 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Corn was 3 to 5 1/4 cents higher. Soybeans were from a 1/4 cent lower to 16 3/4 cents higher. Sorghum was 5 3/4 cents higher.
In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $5.22, down 7 cents.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $5.22, down 7 cents; Minneapolis, $5.56, down 3 1/4 cents; Portland, $5.90 to $6.11, unchanged to up 1 cent; St. Louis, $4.80 to $4.81, down 7 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.23 3/4 to $3.28 3/4, up 3 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.03 3/4, up 4 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.14 3/4 to $3.29 3/4, up 4 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.15 to $3.24, up 3 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $7.95 3/4 to $8 3/4, up 4 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $7.43 3/4, up 7 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $7.50 3/4 to $7.70 3/4, up 9 3/4 to 16 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $7.87 3/4 to $7.90 3/4, up 4 3/4 to down 1/4 cent.
Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 25, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.87 to $6.02, down 7 cents; 12% protein, $6.07 to $6.22, down 7 cents; 13% protein, $6.07 to $6.22, down 13 cents; 14% protein, $6.07 to $6.22, down 13 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.57 1/2 to $3.64 1/4, up 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 cents.
