Ogallala livestock auction report
The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Nebraska, reported receipts of 1,261 head selling on Oct. 11, compared to 2,817 head a week ago and 3,630 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading $5 to $10 higher on comparable trades. No trend on yearlings as there were not enough for an adequate trend. Short run of yearlings and calves due to recent weather. Within the feeder cattle supply 57% were steers and 43% were heifers with 23% weighing over 600 pounds.
