Salina livestock auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,755 head selling on Nov. 1, compared to 2,728 head a week ago and 2,370 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, steers 700 to 1050 pounds were selling $1 to $3 lower, in 700 pounds and under a higher undertone was noted on a limited supply. Heifers 750 to 1000 pounds were selling $1 to $2 lower. In 750 pounds and under, a higher undertone was noted in a light offering. Trade and demand was moderate. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers, with 78% 600 pounds and over.
