Ericson Livestock Auction report

The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 2,568 head selling on Nov. 3, compared to 3,245 head a week ago and 3,915 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.

Compared to a week ago, steer calves 500 to 650 pounds were selling unevenly steady and heifer calves were selling $2 to $5 lower. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. Around 80 head of bred cows are included in the receipts. The calf and feeder supply included 65% steers and 34% heifers with the balance on bulls. Nearly 29% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
