San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, Nov. 29, reported receipts of 2,173 head selling, compared to 1,978 head Nov. 15 and 1,396 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to the Nov. 15 sale, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling $2 to $4 lower. Slaughter cows were selling steady, slaughter bulls were selling weak to $2 lower. Stock cows and pairs were selling slightly lower. Trading and demand were only moderate at best with most pressure on feeder bulls. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 84% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders were 50% steers and bulls, 45% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 450 lbs., 172.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 150.00 to 153.00; 688 lbs., 135.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 127.00 to 129.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 170.00 to 178.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 154.00 to 160.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 133.00 to 144.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 120.00 to 134.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 120.00 to 123.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 114.00 to 117.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 150.00 to 157.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 144.00 to 154.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 121.00 to 133.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 115.00 to 122.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 108.00 to 118.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 400 to 500 lbs., 119.00 to 135.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 132.00 to 142.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 112.00 to 124.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 105.00 to 119.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 93.00 to 113.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 80.00 to 102.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1700 lbs., 33.00 to 42.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1200 lbs., 43.00 to 50.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1400 lbs., 38.00 to 45.50; low dressing, 33.00 to 38.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 20.00 to 33.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1450 to 2155 lbs., 62.50 to 71.00; low yielding, 1200 to 1700 lbs., 55.00 to 60.50.

Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested and sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 935.00 to 1085.00. Medium and large frame 2, 525.00 to 900.00.

Pairs: All were sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 2, 760.00 to 910.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1050 lbs., 91.00 to 110.00 hundredweight; young and middle age, 800 to 1000 lbs., 70.00 to 84.00 hundredweight; middle age, 900 to 1200 lbs., 54.00 to 68.00; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 40.00 to 46.00 hundredweight, few 32.50 to 40.00 hundredweight.
