Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,324 head selling Dec. 13, compared to 1,355 head a week ago and 2,104 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $5 higher. Trade activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. Very high winds hampered cattle movement and curbed receipts. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to firm. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, 0% replacements and 97% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 48% steers and bulls, 52% heifers. Approximately 71% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
