Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,149 head selling on Dec. 17, compared to 1,670 head a week ago and 2,240 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer calves were selling $4 to $6 higher. Feeder steers were selling $7 to $9 higher. Heifer calves were selling $2 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers were selling $8 to $10 higher. Quality was good, several attractive. Demand was good. The offering included 39% of the receipt totals are feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 54% of the total receipts are heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $5 to $8 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $7 higher. A total of 270 cows and bulls sold with 45% going to packers. The Tulsa Livestock Auction will be closed for the holidays. The next sale will be Jan. 7, 2019.

Replacement cows: All were pre-tested for pregnancy and age.
