Cash bids for wheat, corn end 2019 steady to higher
Compared to last week, cash bids for wheat and corn were steady to higher, sorghum and soybeans were higher, according to the Weekly National Grain Market Review, Dec. 27, 2019.
Ethanol production for the week ending Dec.13, 2019 decreased to 1.064 million barrels, a decrease of 8,000 barrels a day. Ethanol stocks reported 21.8 million barrels, a decrease of 17,000 barrels.
For the week ending Dec. 19, 2019, an increase of 24.6 million bushels of corn export sales for 2019-20 were reported while an increase of 27.1 million bushels of soybean exports sales for 2019-20 were tabulated. Wheat export sales showed an increase of 26.3 million bushels for 2019-20 were reported.
Wheat was steady to 10 cents higher. Corn was steady to 8 cents higher. Sorghum was 3 to 4 cents higher. Soybeans were 10 1/4 cents to 13 1/4 cents higher.
In the futures close Dec. 30, 2019, Kansas City March wheat was $4.84 to $4.79 3/4, unchanged.
Terminal wheat bids Dec. 30, 2019, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.65 1/2 to $4.09 1/2, up 3/4 cent; Minneapolis, no quotes; Portland, $6.15, up 15 cents to unchanged; St. Louis, $6.20, down 1 cent.
Terminal corn bids Dec. 30, 2019, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.93 1/4 to $3.98 1/4, down 1 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.57 1/4, down 1 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.58 1/4 to $3.66 1/4, down 1 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.73 to $3.86, down 2 to 1 cent.
Terminal soybean bids Dec. 30, 2019, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.11 1/2 to $9.44 1/2, up 7 to 15 cents; Minneapolis, $9.04 1/2, up 10 cents; southern Iowa, $9.11 1/2 to $9.16 1/2, up 10 to 9 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.41 1/2 to $9.61 1/2, up 6 to 10 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Dec. 30, 2019, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.76 1/2 to $5.86 1/2, up 3/4 cent; 12% protein, $6.30 1/2 to $6.40 1/2, down 9 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.86 1/2 to $6.96 1/2, up 3/4 cent; 14% protein, $6.93 1/2 to $7.03 1/2, up 3/4 cent. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
