Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, sorghum, soybeans and wheat were mixed according to USDA reported prices, Oct. 27.

For the week ending Oct. 22, a decrease of 275,358 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 346,554 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a increase of 122,523 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an decrease of 9,648 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Oct. 16, reported a slight decrease at 913,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was down 2 3/4 to up 5 cents.  Corn was up 8 1/4 to down 1 3/4 cents.  Sorghum was down 1 3/4 cents.  Soybeans were down 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $5.49 1/4.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $5.54 1/4 to $5.64 1/4, unchanged; Minneapolis, unavailable; Portland, $5.85 to $6.30, unchanged to up 5 cents; St. Louis, $6.30 3/4, down 4 1/4 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.96 to $4.10, down 1 3/4 to up 2 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.78 to $4.07, down 1 to 2 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.12 to $4.26, up 1/4 to down 5 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.77 to $3.85, down 1 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $10.42 1/4 to $10.62 1/4, down 5 1/2 to 4 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $10.16 to $10.48 1/4, down 4 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $10.37 to $10.79 1/4, down 4 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $10.77 1/4 to $11.02 1/4, down 1/2 cent.

Kansas City wheat prices Oct. 27, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $6.34 1/4 to $6.44 1/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.74 1/4 to $6.84 1/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.84 1/4 to $6.94 1/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.94 1/4 to $7.04 1/4, down 2 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
