Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat and sorghum were up, while soybeans were down according to USDA reported prices, Feb. 9.

For the week ending Feb. 4, an increase of 460,566 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 105,800 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 26,828 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 46,414 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Jan. 29, reported a slight increase at 936,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was unchanged to down 8 3/4 cents. Corn was down 4 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents. Sorghum was down 7 1/2 cents. Soybeans were up 14 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.33 1/2.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.58 1/2, down 6 cents; Minneapolis, $7.38 1/2 to $7.43 1/2, down 6 cents; Portland, $6.70 to $7.45, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.84 1/2 to $6.89 1/2, down 6 1/4 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.41 1/4 to $5.48 1/4, down 7 1/2 to 1/2 cent; Minneapolis, $5.01 1/4 to $5.38 1/4, down 7 1/2 to 8 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.46 1/4 to $5.64 1/4, down 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 cents; Omaha, $5.12 1/4 to $5.28 1/4, down 7 1/2 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.86 3/4 to $13.91 3/4, up 14 cents; Minneapolis, $13.46 3/4 to $13.76 3/4, up 10 3/4 to 14 cents; southern Iowa, $13.79 3/4 to $14.01 3/4, up 14 to 12 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.11 3/4 to $14.16 3/4, 14 cents.

U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
