Cash bids mostly mixed
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were mostly mixed, according to USDA reported prices, March 9.
For the week ending March 4, a decrease of 502,252 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 416,361 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 140,692 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 69,952 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Feb. 26, reported a significant increase at 849,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 4 3/4 cents to unchanged. Corn was down 1 1/4 cents. Sorghum was down 1 1/4 cents. Soybeans were up 6 1/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.18.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.46 1/2, up 4 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $7.06 1/2 to $7.11 1/2, up 4 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.75 to $7.70, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.86 1/2 to $6.91 1/2, up 10 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.40 3/4 to $5.48 3/4, up 3 3/4 to 1 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.50 3/4 to $5.30 3/4, down 1 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.63 3/4 to $5.52 3/4, down 1 1/4 to 1/4 cents; Omaha, $5.09 3/4 to $5.18 3/4, up 3/4 to 1 1/4 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.35 to $14.50, up 6 1/4 to 11 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $12.38 to $14.45, up 6 1/4 to 9 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $12.53 to $14.38, up 6 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.54 to $14.68, up 6 1/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices March 9, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.11 1/2 to $7.21 1/2,up 4 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $7.41 1/2 to $7.51 1/2, up 4 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $7.29 1/2 to $7.39 1/2, up 4 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $7.29 1/2 to $7.29 1/2, up 4 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
