Cash bids mostly higher

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were mostly higher, according to USDA reported prices, March 16.

For the week ending March 11, an increase of 531,271 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 76,536 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 198,840 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 42,491 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending March 5, reported a significant increase at 938,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 1 1/2 cents to unchanged.  Corn was up 4 3/4 cents.  Sorghum was up 4 3/4 cents.  Soybeans were up 2 3/4 to 3 3/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City May wheat was $6.08 1/4.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.38 1/4, up 10 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $6.88 1/4 to $6.93 1/4, up 1 1/2 cents; Portland, $6.75 to $7.70, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.70 to $6.82, up 2 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.49 1/4 to $5.57 1/4, up 4 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.43 3/4 to $5.39 1/4, up 1 to 4 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.56 3/4 to $5.60 1/4, up 4 3/4 cents; Omaha, $5.18 1/4 to $5.27 1/4, up 4 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.23 1/4 to $14.33 1/4, up 8 3/4  to 3 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $12.21 to $14.28 3/4, up 1 to 8 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $12.35 to $14.02 1/4, up 1 to 3 3/4/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.37 1/4 to $14.55 1/4, up 2 3/4 to 3 3/4 cents.
