Cash bids lower
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were lower, according to USDA reported prices, March 23.
For the week ending March 18, a decrease of 312,323 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 59,546 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 63,673 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 213,545 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending March 12, reported an increase at 971,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 3 3/4 cents to unchanged. Corn was up 2 1/4 cents. Sorghum was up 2 1/4 cents. Soybeans were up 5 3/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City May wheat was $5.82.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.12, up 3 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.62 to $6.67, up 3 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.75 to $7.70, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.64 3/4 to $6.69 3/4, up 7 1/2 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.51 1/4 to $5.61 1/4, up 7 1/4 to 6 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.35 3/4 to $5.37 1/4, up 1 3/4 to 3 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.48 3/4 to $5.58 1/4, up 1 3/4 to 3 1/4 cents; Omaha, $5.16 1/4 to $5.25 1/4, up 3 1/4 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.23 1/4 to $14.33 1/4, up 5 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $11.99 1/2 to $14.15 1/4, up 5 3/4 to 10 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $12.13 1/2 to $14.20 1/4, up 5 3/4 to 7 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.33 1/4 to $14.55 1/4, up 5 3/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices March 23, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $6.67 to $6.77, up 3 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.98 to $7.08, up 9 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.85 to $6.95, up 3 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.85 to $6.95, up 3 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
