Cash bids mostly higher this week
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were mostly higher, according to USDA reported prices, May 4.
For the week ending April 29, an increase of 185,065 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 140,656 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 71,155 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 52,882 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending April 23, had a slight increase at 945,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was unchanged to up 10 3/4 cents. Corn was up 17 1/4 cents. Sorghum was up 17 1/4 cents. Soybeans were up 7 1/4 to 14 1/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City May wheat was $6.91.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.39 1/4, up 20 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $7.84 1/4 to $7.89 1/4, up 10 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.65 to $7.90, unchanged; St. Louis, $7.46 3/4 to $7.51 3/4, up 3 3/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.21 3/4 to $7.36 3/4, up 22 1/4 to 17 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $5.56 1/2 to $7.21 3/4, up 17 1/4 to 19 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.50 to $7.32 1/4, up 7 1/4 to down 9 3/4 cents; Omaha, $6.88 3/4 to $7 1/4, up 17 1/4 cents.
