Cash bids mixed for the week

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mixed for wheat, corn, sorghum and soybeans according to USDA reported prices, Jan. 18.

For the week ending Jan. 13, an increase of 181,511 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 735,042 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 134,832 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 59,632 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Jan. 7, had a decrease at 1,006,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was down 14 3/4 cents to unchanged. Corn was up 3 1/4 cents. Sorghum was up 8 3/4 cents. Soybeans were down 1/2 to 2 1/2 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City March 2022 wheat was $7.72 3/4.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.87 3/4 to $8 3/4, up 27 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, 9.62 3/4, change unavailable; Portland, $10.20 to $11.25, unchanged; St. Louis, $7.84 to 7.89, up 27 1/2 to 17 1/2 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $6.07 1/2 to $6.09 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $5.90 1/2 to $5.89 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $5.71 1/2 to $5.84 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents; Omaha, $5.64 1/2 to $5.86 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.66 1/4 to $13.81 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $13.11 1/4 to $13.26 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $13.36 1/4 to $13.37 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.69 3/4 to $13.79 3/4, down 1/2 to 2 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 18, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.38 3/4 to $9.48 3/4, up 27 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $9.72 3/4 to $9.82 3/4, up 27 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $9.92 3/4 to $10.02 3/4, up 37 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $9.92 3/4 to $10.02 3/4, up 37 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
